Statement
It is said that the ancient Japanese believed that the soul resides in everything in the nature, and lived a fulfilling life by coexisting with nature.
There are still many beautiful, untouched places in Japan. Whenever I visit such places, my heart is refreshed and I realize that I am living and being kept alive by nature. The colors, shapes, and atmosphere woven by nature are truly beautiful and captivating. When I take a deep breath, it makes me feel at peace and as if I can be a part of it. I create each piece of artwork with the sole intention of expressing such feelings.
In particular, the “surface of the water” which is my theme, shows us its various appearances depending on the season, weather, and time. It is like a mirror reflecting our own mind.
Autumn leaves falling and flowing on the water surface overflow with the beauty of the moment when life burns out. Eventually, they sink into the water and return to the earth, where they are reborn as new life. When I think of the long time that the earth has been sustaining life in this way, I cannot help but feel a sense of awe at the monumental length and magnitude of the journey.

I hope that as many people as possible will find in my work a sense of peace of mind and the need to live in harmony with nature in its beauty and profundity.
